Power-play plugged in at Springhill
2015-01-24Power-play goals, four of them, were all that the Farmers' Mutual Bulldogs needed in a 4-3 win over the Cumberland County Blues on Friday night.
The Bulldogs and Blues recorded a total of 29 penalties while battling through three periods, with Antigonish coming out on top. Nate Letcher scored two goals for the Bulldogs, the other two coming from the sticks of Brett MacNeil and Kory Tate. MacNeil and Tate also had an assist, while Emerson Coulter and Scott Coulton had two helpers apiece.
Tanner Doiron provided solid goaltending for the Bulldogs, stopping 37 of 40 shots fired by the Blues.
Replying with one power-play, one short-handed and one even-strength goals for the Blues were Gavyn Connell-Helle, Zachery Black and Ryan Crowe.
Recording the loss in goal for the Blues was Tyler Boudreau, stopping 31 of 35 shots.
With the win, the Bulldogs have a three-point margin over the Blues, with each team having seven games to play in the regular season. On Sunday, the Bulldogs will be focused on avenging a 4-3 loss to the Brookfield Elks, who will be in town for a 7:30 PM start at the Arena.
